Sometimes there are people who have been experiencing frightening and torturous bouts of paranormal activity for such a long period of time, that when the spirits are finally permanently removed, the person can’t help think that every noise or something out of place is paranormal. Which it isn’t. They just won’t let it go and relax and say “it’s gone!” They have trouble looking for rational explanations. It takes time and it takes healing.
I always tell people after there has been a spirit removal in their home, to let the energy settle and give it a 48 hour period. Energy left over from some spirits bounce off the walls like a ping-pong ball. Or linger like a bad fart.
Other people who have gone through long bouts of paranormal activity actually miss the attention from the spirits, albeit it’s negative attention. Some of these people are very lonely and have no other social interaction happening in their lives. They maintain that the SAME SPIRIT that has been removed is STILL THERE (even though it is permanently gone and there is no other entities around). They get stuck in a psychological pattern where they can’t move on and up out of the funk and chaos they put themselves in. On purpose. Argh!!!!!
We get emails and calls from a few of these people and I have to tell them that I can’t run over to their home every time they hear something odd or feel a little spooked. It’s a difficult situation because you want to help everyone. But people have to take ownership of their living situation and do some work to help themselves out.
I will tell adults and children that they have the ability to not let spirits bother them. I explain if they can close their eyes and imagine a suit of armour being built around their body, shiny and silver.
Or they can pick a Stormtrooper outfit from Star Wars. Doesn’t matter, it’s your armour. Now picture this armour made of metal, being incredibly thick and strong and nothing can get through. This has become your psychic protection field. Every time you hear something, feel something or see something that you think is paranormal and you are scared by it, put your suit of armour on. It takes practice and a belief in yourself. Meditation helps.
So if you think there is still something ghost-like in your house, start meditating and put your suit of armour on. You are the victor in the spiritual war – so to speak……..
The majority of people who have paranormal activity in their home but are unaware of ……..the Lurker!
I have found Lurker spirits at 75% of spirit removals/investigations that I have ever been at. They are located in the back of closets, furnace rooms, alcoves, and corners of rooms.
They love basements with laundry rooms and furnaces!
There is usually a hierarchy of spirits assembled in someone who has a home that is active: dominant or aggressive spirits, secondary or submissive spirits, and last, Lurkers. It’s extremely difficult for most people living in an actively haunted atmosphere to pick up on Lurker spirits.
They are very still, quiet and produce virtually no activity at all. They are as their name defines them – basically lurking in your home. Lurkers bear no ill will; and they also have nothing positive to contribute. When I come across them, they are incredibly embarrassed and even apologetic for being caught there.
They’re usually the last spirit I find as they are trying to fade into the woodwork (or other dimension) and become even more invisible and undetectable. As far as clearing them, all the ones I have encountered have no trouble leaving the home immediately and crossing over as quick as they can.
WHY are they even there?????? you ask. Well, they are just spirits that mad the decision to stay here on our plane for awhile so they can just “watch”. Watch everyday living, parties, celebrations, arguments, and just mundane stuff.
Thus, they really are “the peeping toms” of the spirit world.
The first Paranormal Convention in Calgary happened this last weekend. It was put on by Calgary & Banff Ghost Tours run by Johanna Lane. The event was held in the Globe Theatre.
We were happy to have been invited to the event and thrilled to present 2 talks on paranormal subjects. On Saturday it was “What The *Bleep# Is In My House” and on Sunday it was “Understanding Paranormal Phenomena”.
We were able to meet some new people and make plans to investigate various places with Robyn Condon who specializes in capturing EVP’s.
On Saturday, I saw 4 spirits in the theatre: a lady with dark hair in an updo bun in a yellow ball gown. She said she had “showed up for a show but this is not the show she had planned on coming to”. There was a man in his 30’s on the opposite wall and had workman’s overalls and a smirk on his face. He was doing a back and forth motion with his body against the wall. Then there were 2 spirits of children jumping up and down trying to get the presenter Crystal Johannson to pay attention to them.
Ben and I enjoyed ourselves in Calgary and were lucky to have been joined by some friends from Edmonton who came down to the convention.
Thank-you to Johanna for setting up this great first time convention and here’s looking forward to next year’s ParaCon!!!!

CTV Edmonton Morning Show
CTV News.ca Interview with Paranormal Rona
My first stop on Halloween morning was at CTV studios to be interviewed by Stacey Brotzel. She had great questions for me and it was a fun show.
Virgin Morning Show with Ian & Chelsea
Ian & Chelsea
My second stop was at Virgin Radio Edmonton studio to be interviewed by Ian and Chelsea. It was pretty hilarious and it unfortunately didn’t go as long as we wanted. Time is money for the radio shows!
My third and last stop was at The Bear Radio studio featuring Yukon Jack, Scott McCord, and Ryan Maier. I thought these guys were skeptics and were really going to grill me, but I had a nice surprise with their openess to the paranormal and sharing their story and opinions on it.

Thank-you, Chad Huculak; we never figured you were actually doing a cartoon of us for the Edmonton Journal, just of haunted places.
In the link below, you can go to the Edmonton Journal site and see the cartoon:
Edmonton has its share of real haunts and haunted amusements.
Deadmonton is no exception to being one of Western Canada’s scariest Halloween seasons must see!!!
Deadmonton Haunted House even has its own Halloween store on Jasper Avenue, right beside the venue. It looks pretty amazing!
