A person has to die on a piece of land or in a certain building in order for their spirit to haunt it – NOT TRUE!!!
This is such a huge myth and major misconception.
Spirits do not have the space and time restrictions that we do (quantum physics, baby!). The inside of your house could look like the inside of your house or the Serengeti Plains to them. Their dimensional plane is not OUR dimensional universe, although, they have the ability to come in and out of it.
Sometimes a house, a room or a piece of furniture looks like something they used to have when they were alive; thus the attraction.
Other reasons are:
- They are enjoying whatever kind of activity is taking place;
- A particular person’s energy is drawing them to that person.
The Paranormal Explorers have been to some historical sites where murder or a tragic event has taken place. I have noticed that the spirit of the person who has befallen the misfortune is not always present in the building or surrounding area. They have crossed over and are not there. However, other spirits might be present who had nothing whatsoever to do with the tragic event or even the historical period it happened in. Odd, you say??? Not really.

What might look like a decaying abandoned building to us, could appear totally different to spirit in their dimension
There is no law in the universe that states you have to “haunt” the place where you died. Quite possibly, most spirits can’t wait to get the hell away from where all the nasty stuff happened.
A murder, a battle or certain suicides can attract negative spirits who never participated in any of the events, but are feeding off the attention, fear, and horror the living are giving. The residual energy that is still there is an attractant too.
We had a case where a woman thought her husband, who had taken his own life, was stuck in the house and wasn’t crossing over. It turned out her husband had crossed over immediately and the spirit that was in the house was actually a poor woman who had Alzheimers and didn’t know where she was or what was happening to her.
Not sure why the lady with Alzheimers was in this person’s house – we’ll never know, but that is just one example of thinking that the person who died in the house, is haunting the house. (The Alzheimer spirit did get helped over so she is okay – just so you know)
