Most people have had a pet at one point in their lives. For most, they are like children or babies, or a part of the family. When the pet dies, it tears a piece of the heart from the human(s) who loved it. Animals do exist in the afterlife. The majority of animal spirits are around their humans at least a handful of times a year, just to check in on them. Some people can be lucky and see a full figure of their animal, and/or feel the animal beside them. If only for a moment.

One of the cases we had involving spirit removal was a post-World War 2 house, with a grandmother who had small children visiting. She had a well-lit and clean basement for the kids to play in. But they didn’t like it very much. They had a bad feeling; not really scary, more like sad and not very fun. The grandmother’s dog did NOT like going down into the basement; when he did, he would bark at this one wall, becoming extremely agitated.
We went downstairs and I immediately saw a spirit of a German Shepherd. He was chained to the wall. The dog let me know that he guarded a drug stash and that he was very devoted to it. It was really sad to think the previous owners had chained their dog and had not given him any love or affection and just taught him to be vicious to criminals who wanted to steal or cause chaos to the homeowners. So in spirit form, he was still doing this negative job and was not aware he had died because he had not crossed over. ( He’s okay now, he was been sent to a very loving place.)
It explains the reaction of the grandmother’s dog because he was barking at the wall where the dog had been chained up.
I also had an encounter with a little Bichon Frise spirit. He was hiding behind a couch in this family’s basement. I had just done a spirit removal for 2 human spirits and was just finishing up, double checking to see that I hadn’t missed anyone. The little dog popped out and let me know he was there for his family and was still guarding them from everyone and everything, as most dogs do. When I went upstairs to inform the homeowners that the spirits were gone, and that I saw a little white Bichon Frise in the basement. They were stunned and the father ran to get a photo album with photos which were all of this little dog who had passed.

I was not aware they had a dog when I met them nor when I went to do the spirit removal. The photos they showed me were of an apricot-colored dog; the one in the basement was white. They said as he became older, his coat turned white and they showed me some pictures toward the back of the album. It was him! You could tell this family really loved and missed him. I told them that he was there guarding them from whatever bad things could be out there. They were very emotional and were actually more thankful for the sighting of their little doggie than the spirit removal!
Just be assured that your furbaby loved you unconditionally and will always be in your spirit circle.
